AUDITIONS
Any artist living in the area in the Santa Cruz Valley south of the Tucson city limits including the Tohono O’odham tribal lands and north of the U.S. border in the city of Nogales, AZ is considered to be living in the Greater Green Valley area and is therefore eligible for the show.
Format

Each audition is 5 minutes long. The audition schedule will be on 10-minute intervals to accommodate time for a few informal questions from the board and for board discussion between auditions.
In some cases, artists may submit audio or video recording for an audition with Board approval.
All material in the audition should be of the artist or group that is being proposed for the show. Audition material should be in the format that the artist is proposing for the show.
Guidelines

These are merely guidelines. The board may determine exceptions to the guidelines as it deems best for the good of the showcase.
In general, no person or performing group will appear in more than one showcase per season.
Musicians must produce all music live for the audition and the show. Pre-recorded or electronic accompaniment is not acceptable with the following exceptions: dancers, jugglers, and magicians may use pre-recorded music. The Board may make exceptions.
It is advisable for audition material to avoid subjects that might be controversial, such as religion or politics. A notable exception would be for material that is more historical in perspective, for example spirituals, country gospel, or African-American gospel.
